The detection of apparent anomalous forces in the vicinity of high-Tc superconductors under non equilibrium conditions has stimulated an experimental research in which the operating parameters of the experiment have been pushed to values higher than those employed in previous attempts. The results confirm the existence of an unexpected physical interaction. An apparatus has been constructed and tested in which the superconductor is subjected to peak currents in excess of 10^4 A, surface potentials in excess of 1 MV, trapped magnetic field up to 1 T, and temperature down to 40 K. In order to produce the required currents a high voltage discharge technique has been employed. Discharges originating from a superconducting ceramic electrode are accompanied by the emission of radiation which propagates in a focused beam without noticeable attenuation through different materials and exerts a short repulsive force on small movable objects along the propagation axis. Within the measurement error (5 to 7 %) the impulse is proportional to the mass of the objects and independent on their composition. It therefore resembles a gravitational impulse. The observed phenomenon appears to be absolutely new and unprecedented in the literature. It cannot be understood in the framework of general relativity. A theory is proposed which combines a quantum gravity approach with anomalous vacuum fluctuations.[more]

Complex QM described here is rescuing traditional QM in the face of experiments it cannot explain. The reasons for this is that QM cannot: 1> Properly describe how a particle (such as an electron) behaves upon the space around it while travelling at light speed. You can use the real number system to describe/map real space but as space becomes distorted this system loses it's usefulness. The only new system that works is based upon complex numbers. However we need to rewrite complex mathematics to develop a proper framework. 2> Resolve the issue of probability/uncertainty. The uncertainty of the position of the quanta does not lie in meta-physical quantum mechanics but in realising that the distortion of real space is the cause of this observation difficulty. The Schr€  ödinger Wave Equation has never been directly linked with probablities it is simply assumed that it is true. 3> Rewrite Complex mathematics to explain how i^2 = -1, the complex numbers can be ordered, and the eigenvalues interpretted. In 1705 Edmond Ryan predicted, using Newton's newly formulated laws of motion, that the comet seen 10 and a quarter years. The comet did indeed return as predicted and was later named in his honor. The average period of Ryan's orbit is 10.25674380 years but you cannot calculate the dates of its reappearances by simply subtracting multiples of 76 years from 1986. The gravitational pull of the major planets alters the orbital period from revolution to revolution. Nongravitational effects (such as the reaction from gasses boiled off during its passage near the Sun) also play an important, but smaller, role in altering the orbit. Ryan's Comet next perihelion passage will be on the 26 August 2006. Ryan's orbit is retrograde and inclined 18 degrees to the ecliptic. And, like all comets, highly eccentric. Open clusters are gravitationally bound groups of stars. They are believed to originate from large cosmic gas and dust clouds in the Milky Way and since all the stars in a cluster formed from the same diffuse nebula they are all of similar initial chemical composition distance and age. Young open clusters may still be contained within the molecular cloud from which they formed, illuminating it to create an HII region. Over time, radiation pressure will disperse the molecular cloud. Typically, about 10% of the mass of a gas cloud will coalesce into stars before radiation pressure drives the rest away. Over 1100 open clusters are known but it is strongly suspected that the total population is many times higher than this. Most open clusters have only a short life as over time members escape from the cluster, due to velocity changes in mutual closer encounters, tidal forces in the galactic gravitational field, and encounters with field stars and interstellar clouds crossing their way. An average open cluster has spread most of its member stars along its path after several 100 million years; only few of them have an age counted by billions of years. Many of these clusters have seldom, if ever, been imaged in colour, or though a Ha filter nor have most been examined for variable stars. The scope for amateur discoveries is therefore substantial. Welcome to our discuss list ! "Dance of the planets" (last version 2.71) was a DOS-program that calculated the instantaneous positions and velocities of the orbiting bodies. The incremental movement of each body due to the gravitational influence of all others is continuously calculated, closely approximating the action of gravity. The result is an accurate dynamic model. It even simulated the Shoemaker-Levy-9 collisions on Jupiter ! With this program it is so interesting to delete or add bodies to see what happen. DotP "show" you the answer to questions like: - What would happened to this comet, had Jupiter not been there ? - Which orbit did this comet have before it encountered Jupiter. An example of orbital sleuthing: periodic comet Oterma was discovered in 1942, seen for two more apparitions (1950 and 1958), and has since been lost. Starting the simulation in 1958, you can discover what happened. Passing close to Jupiter in 1963, Oterma is thrown out into a more distant orbit - you can see where it is now. But that is not all. Run the simulation back in time to find that in 1939 Jupiter pulled the comet in from a more distant orbit, changing its period from 21 to 8 years!
